Living in Provence

We are Anneke, Silke, and Rembert, a Flemish family who have been living in the south of France, in Provence, since 2001.
In a quiet spot, surrounded by nature in the Var, a short distance from the Gorges du Verdon.

For us, Domaine de Campeaux is not just a B&B in Provence or a chambre d’hôtes in the south of France. It is our home.

Life in Provence is often portrayed as a dream. Sun, silence, beautiful landscapes.
And yes, these things do exist. But anyone who lives here also knows that life in the south of France is not always easy.

It requires perseverance, patience, and adaptation. Nothing comes easily.
And that's what makes life here a little harder, but also fair and real.

The seasons in Provence

At Domaine de Campeaux, we live with the seasons, not against them.

Winter is a time to slow down, reflect, and make plans for the new season. The days can be sunny, but also cold. Sometimes the mistral wind blows hard and the rain can fall heavily.

In spring, the estate slowly awakens. Nature comes back to life, the light changes, and everything begins to move again, without haste.

Summer in Provence is intense. The days are long, the sun is powerful, and work doesn't stop when it gets hotter. It takes a lot of energy, but it also brings liveliness.

In autumn, tranquility returns. The hustle and bustle subsides, the colors soften, and the estate can breathe again.

A family and an authentic bed and breakfast

Behind this rhythm are ordinary people, each with their own role.

Rembert takes care of everything technical and practical. He keeps the outdoor area tidy and ensures that everything continues to function properly.

Together with Milan, Silke's boyfriend, he also takes care of the shopping and practical tasks. Thanks to them, everything runs smoothly, even the things that guests don't always see.

Silke keeps things orderly and organized. She keeps everything organized and takes care of the administration. And bureaucracy in France can sometimes be quite complex. Thanks to her, everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Anneke enjoys cooking with simple ingredients and lots of flavor, as is customary here in Provence.
She likes to make time for a chat with our guests. Sometimes short, sometimes longer, just as it happens.

For us, hospitality is not about luxury, but about attention and warmth.

Our way of welcoming guests in the South of France

Our intention is simple: to create a peaceful and authentic place in Provence.
A place where people feel welcome.
Where nothing is mandatory and almost everything is allowed.

. Just tranquility, simplicity, and attention to detail.

Domaine de Campeaux is a place that moves with life, with the people who stay here, and with the rhythm of nature in the south of France.
And that is exactly what we want to share with our guests.

Today we welcome guests from all over Europe who, just like us once did, want to slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet of Provence.

Perhaps you recognize something in our story.
The desire to slow down, enjoy nature, peace, and simplicity.

At Domaine des Campeaux, we welcome guests who are looking for exactly that: a peaceful place in Provence where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Would you like to experience the atmosphere of the estate for yourself?
